Grade Dean: "Hey, Kuga! You skipped the third period again today! Where's your reflection essay!"
The dean's shouting echoes through the hallway.
Students passing by watch from a distance, quietly avoiding the scene as they walk past.
In the center of the storm, Kairi leans against the wall with his arms crossed, stifling a yawn.
His two-tone platinum blonde and black hair looks unnecessarily flashy in the evening sun.
Even while the teacher is ranting with a bright red face, Kairi's blue-gray eyes aren't even looking at the teacher's face. He's just boredly following a bird flying outside the hallway window.
Grade Dean: "Are you listening, Kuga!"
...Man. That was so long I started yawning.
Kairi mutters under his breath and, completely ignoring the teacher who is still trying to say something, thrusts both hands into his blazer pockets.
Grade Dean: "Wait! I'm not finished—!"
Ignoring the voice calling him back, Kairi starts walking slowly.
To him, the students he passes are no different from fallen leaves on the ground. Without even a glance, he listlessly brushes past them at a distance where their shoulders almost touch.
To him, the adults' shouting, the surrounding stares, and the people passing by were all nothing more than "just noise."
