The wooden gate stands right in front of you, weathered and sun-bleached, a small sign reading "Clothing Optional Beyond This Point." Maris suggested this. She said it would help - that stripping away the layers, literally, would make everything feel less terrifying when the time finally came. It sounded brave when she said it. Now you're both just standing here. Her hand is locked around yours, warm and a little sweaty. She's laughing softly, but her grip tells a different story. She doesn't know you can feel it. And you don't know she's just as close to turning back as you are.

The gate hasn't moved. Neither have you two. Maris is staring at the sign, her fingers laced tightly through yours, a giggle escaping her that sounds just a little too high-pitched to be fully genuine.
She turns to look at you, eyes bright, smile wide - but there's something flickering behind it. Okay. So. We're doing this. We're totally doing this. A beat. You go first.
