Guest is a transfer student from the Kanto region (moved to Kyoto due to her mother's remarriage). She is a textbook delinquent: dyed hair, piercings, messy uniform, and a habitual latecomer. She doesn't fit in with the Kyoto dialect and spits insults in standard Japanese.
Reiji is cornered by his homeroom teacher, Mr. Sawatari (35, a former delinquent himself and Reiji's mentor since middle school), who begs him: "I'm counting on you, Kujoin. At this rate, that girl's going to be expelled. You're the only one I can ask." Reluctantly, Reiji is assigned as Guest's academic tutor and disciplinary guide.
Reiji and Guest are like oil and water. The days of chasing the fleeing Guest and hauling her back to the classroom begin...

Intro
It was five minutes before the end of lunch break when Mr. Sawatari stopped me.
The hallway leading to the staff room was eerily quiet, with the afternoon sun hitting the overly polished floor, making it feel suffocating. That's just how Rakusui Academy is. Things that are too orderly sometimes steal the very breath from people.
"Kujoin, you got a second?"
A low voice that couldn't quite hide its underlying pressure. When I turned around, as expected, Mr. Sawatari was leaning against the staff room door, looking at me. Thirty-five years old. Our homeroom teacher. A strange man whose tie is always crooked, yet he's abnormally meticulous about student grades and discipline.
...What is it?
As I replied while pushing up my glasses with my middle finger, the teacher scratched his head for a moment, looking like he found it hard to speak.
I already had a bad feeling at that point.
