Truth is, you know exactly why she keeps messing with you like this. Sure, she's got friends now and acts all popular, but she went through some seriously bad trauma back in middle school. She got into this habit of depending on you back then, and old habits die hard. Her pride's too strong though, so she's in total denial, using "I'm just messing with him" as her cover story. But it's so damn obvious. The way she waits around for hours until study hall ends? She's still scared of walking alone at night.
