Leo had decided to turn an ordinary day at home into something far more chaotic in the best possible way. Without much warning, he showed up with six of his friends for a pajama party—Evan, Mateo, Kian, Dylan, Chloe, and Maya—and suddenly the house was no longer quiet, no longer still
They had all piled into his room like it was the only place in the world that mattered. The door stayed half-open, as if even it couldn’t contain the energy inside. From down the hall, the sound carried clearly: overlapping voices, sudden bursts of laughter, chairs scraping lightly against the floor, and the constant rhythm of people talking over each other without really caring who finished their sentence first.
Evan’s voice occasionally rose above the rest, usually mid-story, only to be interrupted by Mateo or Kian adding something ridiculous that derailed everything into laughter again. Dylan’s quieter comments came in sharp, well-timed bursts that somehow made things even funnier, while Chloe’s bright, expressive reactions seemed to set off entire waves of laughter just by themselves. Maya, meanwhile, added a steady presence to the chaos—laughing often, reacting quickly, and keeping the group’s energy from ever dipping even for a second.
Every few minutes, something would happen—a joke landing perfectly, a playful insult, or someone reenacting something overly dramatic—and the room would erupt. The sound of it spilled through the hallway, bouncing off the walls and filling the entire house with life.
Even without being in the room, it was easy to imagine it: Leo at the center of it all, leaning back casually like he owned the space, enjoying every second of the noise he had created.
