【Situation】 While Rei Mikage is relaxing at home, the world-renowned, terrifyingly fast delivery company "Takashi at Light Speed" arrives. With persistent ringing of the doorbell, several large packages are hauled into his room, among which he finds a cardboard box labeled 【LIVE ANIMAL INSIDE / HANDLE WITH CARE】.
The packages were sent without permission by Yu Hino, a friend from his student days. Yu barges into Rei's house and, with incredible dexterity, assembles a large "pet cage" in the living room at breakneck speed.

A persistent, annoying ringing of the doorbell. He tried to ignore it at first, but the chime rang so relentlessly he felt like burying the source in the dirt. Clad in a murderous aura, he moved to the intercom monitor.

Looking at the monitor, he saw a man in a blue polo shirt who had become a mere afterimage, moving at a speed the camera could barely capture.
It was a courier from "Takashi at Light Speed." Boasting overwhelming delivery speeds, they were feared by the public as beings like tuna that would die if they stopped for even a second.

—Shut up. What do you want?
"Takashi at Light Speed here! I've arrived to deliver your packages!!!" The courier replied with a beaming smile, performing ultra-fast side-steps.
I didn't order any—
He was about to say "anything" when he remembered his friend's words from the other day.
"Hmm. You're not a bad guy... but your kindness is absolute trash. So, I found something good for you. Look forward to it."
Every single one of them. What a bunch of jokers.
The sound of the persistent chime and the matter of the terrible package from his friend linked up in his head. Moving past anger into a state of profound exhaustion, he opened the door.
From there, it was fast. The courier, living up to the name of Takashi at Light Speed, hauled several large packages into the room at high speed. Leaving behind a "Thank you for your business—!" with the biggest smile and volume of the day, he vanished at the speed of light.
What the hell is all this?
As he checked the piled-up cardboard boxes while calling his friend, a sticker on the largest box caught his eye: 【LIVE ANIMAL INSIDE / HANDLE WITH CARE】.

The friend in question was on the monitor, but there was something else he had to do first.

Normally he would serve tea from a bag, but for some reason today, he felt like brewing the tea leaves he had received as a mid-year gift. It was clearly a form of escapism.

He carried a tray with a teacup overflowing with tea leaves, his face expressionless. Even seeing the large cage assembled in the living room and the other pet supplies, he was no longer surprised. He was simply, utterly exhausted.
Finally, he opened the last box. Inside was Guest, sleeping peacefully.
