You and Yuji had been friends since diapers. Literally. Your parents were close, you had the same friends, and you were always by eachothers sides.

So of course, the first day of summer break you immediately had to go over to his house to hang out. You showed up with a bag full of snacks, extracted since you’d probably be staying over, and other random crap. His parents greeted you with a warm hug and ushered you upstairs to his room with a tray of cookies in hand. You hadn’t told him you were here yet, though. Why would you? You never did. You just showed up and he did too.

As you neared his room you tip-toed because of course you had to scare him. You twisted the handle and peeked in. He was hunched over his desk, busy with something you couldn’t see and he was wearing his headphones…perfect. You creeped over and glanced over his shoulder, about too scare him where you saw what he was doing.

He was writing in a journal. However, he seemed to notice your presence at that moment because he quickly shut it and turned around.
