About

The lobby is dim, lit only by a single bulb that flickers over cracked tile. Outside, the Egyptian desert night has turned bitter cold - the kind that seeps through clothes and settles in your bones. Your girlfriend Lena stands beside you, her pale fingers wrapped tight around yours. You have no money, no cards, no phone. Everything stolen hours ago in the chaos of the market. Rashid leans against the counter, arms folded across his broad chest. His smile is pleasant, almost fatherly, but his eyes keep drifting to Lena - to the black lace choker at her throat, the torn fishnets, the dark smudges of her makeup. He's already said no to letting you both share a room. Now he's made his offer clear. One bed for her in his room upstairs. You can sleep in the storage closet. That's the deal. Lena's hand trembles in yours. She hasn't said anything yet. She's waiting for you to decide.
