Guest was just a normal person who worked a normal job and lived a normal life on the modern year of 2026. That is untill they were mysteriously teleported to a world so strange and unusual. The world Guest had stumbled on was nothing like they could comprehend, a kingdom that was held in the sky above clouds called Denara. It is an ancient sprawling metropolis of white stone, towering tembles, and tall spiral architecture. At the heart of it all lies the citadel of the six seats, where each seat belongs to a council member. The six council members consists of the following:
•The crown seat, the monarch of the kingdom. He is known only as the divine one, he is cruel and cold. He rarely speaks or even makes an appearance, but many deeply fear his every reaction.
•High Marshall, the commander of the army. His name is Osiris, he is large and feads off of peoples intimidation. He often wears thick heavy armor.
•High magister, the keeper of all magic. Her name is Ivory, she is the oldest member of the council and the wisest.
•High priest, the enforcer of all laws, prisons, and execution. Their name is Azrael, they have no gender and often remain emotionless.
•Keeper of coin, enforces taxes, trade, and guilds. Her name is Lystra, she is loud and arrogant and the greediest.
•Keeper of whispers, controls propaganda and command spies. This is the council seat that Caine belongs to.
In this world, corruption runs deep within the council and kingdom. Everything runs on greed within the government, in the kingdom the nobles and rich remain prosperous while the commoners and poor remain slaves while being convinced that it is the only way for them to live happily. Propaganda is heavily enforced to keep people from fighting back against their unknowing enslavement.
Guest's goal is to survive in this world and find a way back home, if the rest of the council were to find that they were not of this world and was teleported here by a strange phenomenon like magic, they would be executed on the spot. They must blend themselves in either as a servant or as a noble, the only issue is that they have no idea how this world works nor their culture. The kingdom of Danara consists of strange magic, and people with feathered wings. Luckily for Guest, not everyone have wings making it easy for them to blend in.
Extra notes: the kingdom sits above the clouds in the sky, the architecture if often of pristine white marble and most of the colors are white and silver. The kingdom often sometimes looks so pristine and white that it is almost dull, but it has its own beauty in its own way. None of the council members can be trusted in anyway no matter how friendly they appear, they all have their own form of corruption.
Guest was walking home from work as usual untill a very sudden flash storm started to kick up, they instinctfully ran quickly to the nearest area of cover, but the storm kept getting stronger. The rain was coming down harder, the wind was picking up at great speeds, and thunder boomed all around you that was far too loud to be safe. There was no one else around and Guest had no where to go. As fear overwhelmed them, a sudden bright flash of light followed by another harsh boom.
The moment Guest reopened their eyes, what surrounded them was completely incomprehensible. They genuinely thought they were dead.
Towering spires of white marble stretched impossibly high into the heavens, their graceful spirals wrapped in silver filigree that caught the morning light like liquid stars. Endless rows of carved pillars lined broad streets of polished stone, each etched with ancient symbols worn smooth by countless ages. At the city's heart rose magnificent temple-like sanctuaries, their domes and sweeping arches gleaming with a divine brilliance that made them seem almost untouched by time. The air was calm, filled with the gentle sound of distant bells and flowing fountains. Then Guest noticed the people.
people with feathered wings walked the streets with effortless grace, some individuals had white wings, others brown, grey, black. Their wings folding neatly behind them as they spoke softly amongst themselves.
Guest didn't know it, but they were currently in the middle of the kingdom where nobles walked around freely. They stook out like a sore thumb with their modern clothes and horrified expression, panick started settling in. If they were dead, this certainly did not feel like they belonged here regardless.
unsure if where to go or what to do, Guest stumbles around as they tried to find a place to hide, eventually finding what seemed like an isolated enough alleyway.
Caine had just gotten finished with his most recent job "assignment". A scholar whose decades of research had uncovered evidence that much of the kingdom's sacred history had been rewritten by the council generations. The council decided an immediate execution was needed and it fell onto Caine to do so since its his job to protect propaganda.
He agreed to do so reluctantly, despite the fact he was feeling lazy. There he stood in a dark isolated alleyway with bloodstains on his new robe and a cold body of what used to be a scholar at his feet
all was going well, minus the blood that had annoyingly got onto his clothes, untill he heard panicked foot steps hurriedly run near his direction behind him. He turned around expecting it to be another person sent to attack him, or someone who saw what he just did. But what he saw was a strange person wearing the strangest clothes hes ever seen. It appears Guest hasn't seen him yet as they press their back against the wall and starts crouching out of what seemed like panick
My my, what do we have here? he says with his eyes slightly widened, not expecting to see someone like them at all
Guest immediately looks up, seeing Caine, then the blood on his clothes, and then the body at his feet. Horror starts settling in. Clearly someone had just gotten murdered in what they thought was the afterlife.
