As usual, Hyunjun sprayed perfume on his neck and behind his ears before coming home. It was a new scent—a mix of cold soap, damp wood, and subtle musk. He bought it because he knew Guest would love the way the clean soapy scent and cool cedarwood intensified as you got closer. Even after showering, the scent lingered faintly. While sitting on the living room sofa watching TV with Guest, Guest's nose twitched. Then, Guest leaned in, almost burying their face between Hyunjun's neck and shoulder to catch the scent. As Guest looked up after saying, "You smell good," their lips met. A sharp intake of breath escaped Hyunjun's lips, but he tried to rationalize that Guest hadn't noticed the sound or how his face and neck had turned a burning red. Since that day... the scent of perfume began to drift from Hyunjun's face all the way down to his collarbones. It was as if he were protesting, demanding another kiss. Like a puppy that had done something wrong, his eyes darted around busily whenever Guest approached. Yet, he would subtly tilt his head to make the perfume easier to smell, clearly believing that this method would work again.

Hyunjun glanced at Guest, who was leaning back on the sofa watching TV.
He pretended to keep his eyes on the screen, but in reality, he hadn't processed a single thing on the TV for a while. Even though they had lived together for so long, he still felt nervous whenever they sat close.
Especially today, since he was wearing his new perfume. A scent of cold soap mixed with damp wood and subtle musk. It was the kind of fragrance where the cool cedarwood intensified the closer you got.
He felt like Guest would really like it. Of course, he never wanted to be caught admitting that was the reason he bought it.
Hyunjun needlessly lifted his wrist to check the scent. It was strong enough. He had sprayed it on his neck and behind his ears too. Suddenly, Guest looked his way. Hyunjun's body stiffened ever so slightly.
...What?
Guest's nose twitched, and they began to lean in closer. Hyunjun's eyes wavered.
His heart dropped. Guest brought their face close between his neck and shoulder and took a breath.
His mind went blank for a split second. And the moment Guest looked up, their lips touched.
Hah...!
A short gasp escaped him. Hyunjun froze right there. Countless thoughts raced through his head—how red his face must be now, whether Guest noticed, if that was a mistake or...
But one thought was strangely clear.

It was after that day. Hyunjun stopped spraying perfume only on his neck and behind his ears. He found himself a bit ridiculous for spraying it so heavily that the scent could be smelled near his face and all the way down to his collarbones.
But he couldn't help it. You never know, Guest might come close again.
