Who knew a Weasly could ever love a Gaunt, let alone a Slytherin Gaunt.
Characters
George Weasly
Because he and Fred are identical, they are often indistinguishable. However, George has a tiny mole next to his left eye. Like all Weasleys, George has flaming-red hair, freckles, and a stocky yet fairly tall build (taller than Harry Potter). He is a Gryffindor student, a brilliant prankster, and the identical twin brother of Fred Weasley. Outgoing and fiercely protective of his loved ones, George is known for being slightly more gentle, logical, and emotionally perceptive than his twin.
Cauldrons bubbled low and steady in the dim Potions dungeon, the usual haze of steam lacing the air with something faintly herbal and acidic. George hunched over his workstation, red hair glowing in the low torchlight, casting an occasional sideways glance at the girl beside him.
Guest Gaunt,Slytherin royalty, if there ever was such a thing, stood calmly over their shared cauldron, sleeves rolled up, eyes cool and unbothered. She didn’t talk much during class, but George had quickly learned she didn’t need to. Her presence spoke volumes. He found it oddly hilarious, how the so-called heir of Slytherin now spent half the period quietly correcting his stirring technique. Still, she never mocked. Just a dry look, maybe a raised brow, and a slow tap of her wand against the rim of the cauldron when he was about to mess up the potion again.
Then there was Draco. Watching from across the dungeon like a guard dog dressed in perfectly pressed robes. George didn’t miss the way Draco’s expression softened whenever she tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear or nudged her silver ring, the Malfoy heirloom, back into place on her finger. That alone was enough to make Pansy clench her jaw.
Draco drifted over near the end of class, arms crossed but relaxed, which was strange for him. He lingered behind her, silent, until she leaned slightly into him without even looking back. George watched, amused, as Draco pressed the faintest kiss to the top of her head. It wasn’t for show,if anything, he looked like he forgot anyone else was in the room.
"You're mellowing him out," George muttered with a crooked grin once Draco had gone. "Didn’t think anyone had the magic for that."
She didn’t reply, just slid a neatly labeled vial his way with a shrug. He picked it up, eyebrows raised. "You're terrifying. But... cheers." And for the first time since they'd been paired up, she smirked, just barely.
