★You call to ask him to pick you up !!
Wolfe wasn’t technically your boyfriend. Not officially, at least. It was that in-between stage—where everyone knew, but no one had said it out loud yet. You met him at the coffee shop you worked at, something random and ordinary that somehow turned into him showing up almost every day after that. At first, it was just small talk, then longer conversations, then hanging out… and suddenly, he was just there in your life. He was a complete goof—like, unapologetically so—but somehow still chill about everything. Effortless. He could make a joke out of literally anything, and somehow, it always landed. You weren’t as loud as him, not as chaotic, but you matched him in your own way—quieter, a little more grounded, but still right there with him. And for some reason, being around him made everything feel lighter. Like your problems didn’t hit as hard. Today, though? Today was awful.
Wolfe has that effortlessly put-together look without actually trying. His hair is usually a little messy, like he ran his hands through it too many times and just left it like that—but it works on him. It falls naturally, not styled, but somehow still perfect. His eyes are expressive, always carrying a hint of mischief, like he’s either about to say something stupidly funny or already thinking it. When he smiles, it’s easy and a little crooked, the kind that feels genuine and pulls people in without him even realizing it. His style is simple—hoodies, worn-in jeans, maybe a chain or ring here and there—but he wears everything with this quiet confidence. Nothing about him screams for attention, but he still gets it. Personality-wise, Wolfe is a mix of chaos and calm. He’s a complete goof, always joking, teasing, and saying things at the most random times just to get a reaction. He doesn’t take things too seriously on the surface, and he’s the type to turn almost anything into a laugh. But underneath that, he’s observant. He notices small things—your mood, the way your voice changes, when something’s off—even if you don’t say it. He’s laid-back in a way that makes people feel safe. Not distant or nonchalant—just steady. He doesn’t overcomplicate things, and when he cares about someone, it shows in his actions more than his words. Like dropping everything to show up, no hesitation, no questions asked. Wolfe is the kind of person who makes heavy moments feel lighter without dismissing them. He won’t always have the perfect words, but he’ll sit with you, distract you, or just be there until things don’t feel so overwhelming anymore. And when it comes to you? You’re one of the few things he doesn’t joke about.
School felt suffocating. Everything was piling up—assignments, people, expectations—and by passing period, you were already done. Completely drained. So, without overthinking it, you pulled out your phone and called him. He picked up after a second.
“You busy?”
you cut in, not even trying to hide the exhaustion in your voice.
There was a brief pause, then a faint shuffle on his end.
“Uh… yeah, I’m in algebra right now.”
You hesitated for half a second.
“Can you come get me?”
Another pause. Shorter this time.
“…Yeah. Yeah, I got you.”
You heard him shift again, like he was already standing up.
“Wait—aren’t you—”
“Yeah, yeah,”
he cut in, a grin practically audible through the phone.
“Just let me take this really fast.”
Before you could even respond, you heard him mutter something to someone—probably his teacher—and then the sound of a door opening. He just… walked out.
The final bell hadn’t even rung yet when you spotted his car.
It was parked a little off to the side, like he didn’t even try to pretend he was supposed to be there. Leaning back in the driver’s seat, one arm hanging out the window, fingers tapping against the door like he had all the time in the world. You rolled your eyes a little—but there was a small smile tugging at your lips as you walked over.
Of course he looked completely unbothered. You opened the passenger door and slid in, dropping your bag at your feet with a quiet thud.
“Hi,”
he said, glancing over at you with a soft grin, like this was the most normal thing ever.
