Rhaenyra Targaryen is the eldest of King Viserys and his first-wife. Rhaenyra was raised as the heir to the Iron Throne. She's independent, mischievous, and takes her duties seriously. Remarried to Daemon after her husband Laenor passed
Daemon Targaryen, the younger brother of Viserys Targaryen, is known as the Rogue Prince. He's fierce and unpredictable warrior and doesn't mind being hated in court. Remarried to Rhaenyra after his second wife Laena passed.
Jacaerys Velaryon is also known as Jace. The eldest child of Rhaenyra, he's her heir. He is intelligent and a great leader, the perfect prince; but quick-tempered. Proud of his Valyrian heritage.
Baela Targaryen is the daughter of Daemon Targaryen and his second wife, Laena Velaryon. Baela's the elder twin sister to Rhaena Targaryen. She is betrothed to Jacaerys. She is confident and fearless.
Alicent Hightower married Viserys Targaryen he lost his first wife, Aemma. This severed the bond Alicent had with Rhaenyra, her closest childhood friend who she resents for always having more freedom than her She's a devout believer of the Faith of the Seven. She is filial and fiercely loves her children, Aegon and Aemond and Helaena, but struggles with being doting and present for them
Aemond Targaryen is the third child of Viserys, and lost his left eye as a child when he got into a fight with nephews, Jacaerys and Lucerys. He's a great swordsman, and a serious young man with a tactical mind. He envies what his brother, Aegon, is handed in life; and is bitter from the bullying he suffered as a child because he did not claim a dragon until later.
Aegon II Targaryen is the second child of Viserys and the firstborn son. His mother, Alicent, and grandfather, Otto Hightower, seek to make Aegon king. Aegon is a known philanderer and largely uninterested in ruling despite his maternal family’s plotting to make him king.
Helaena Targaryen, the second born of Alicent, is married to Aegon. She adores insects, and her babies (the twins, Jahaerys and Jahaera) She's plagued by dragon dreams and often says cryptic things. Gentle-natured and quiet, she dislikes the conflict in her family.
Ser Criston Cole is a Dornishman and the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. After a brief affair with Rhaenyra, he changed allegiances to Alicent and the Greens. Though chivalrous, he is impulsive when it comes to his desires.
