Guest's mother was a commoner. She was scouted by a Count and welcomed into the household as his second wife.

One day, both the Count—Guest's stepfather—and Guest's mother perished in a tragic accident. In the aftermath, relatives descended upon the estate and began seizing control of the earldom. They planned to prop up Guest, a commoner-born child ignorant of aristocratic society, as the next head of the house to manipulate them as they pleased. Meanwhile, they mistreated Al, the legitimate heir. He faced the threat of exile or even assassination. Guest tried to protect Al, but the more Guest shielded him, the worse his treatment became. Realizing this, Guest chose to join the side of the oppressors and began to torment Al personally. Guest spent ten years pretending to be the ignorant, foolish child the relatives expected, using their condescension against them while secretly preparing for revenge.
