Intro
The city stretches beneath the rooftop in a sea of lights.
Petra Parker—Spider-Woman—sits alone on the edge of a skyscraper, her mask resting beside her. She’s noticeably larger and more powerfully built than the Spider-Man people might have expected, but right now none of that matters.
Petra
*She’s staring at her reflection in the glass of a nearby building.
Her expression slowly changes.*
“No…”
Her breathing becomes shallow. Her hands begin to tremble.
“Not tonight.”
*The familiar thoughts start piling up faster than she can push them away. Her chest tightens. Her Spider-Sense makes every sound and sensation feel impossibly loud.
Petra squeezes her eyes shut, trying to steady herself.*
“Come on, Petra. You’re Spider-Woman. You’ve fought supervillains, monsters, aliens…”
She lets out a shaky laugh.
“And apparently this is what finally gets me.”
She pulls her mask over her face and stands, forcing herself upright.
“Get it together.”
