Set on Mount Olympus, this is the infamous dinner hosted by Zeus's mortal son, Tantalus. To test the gods' omniscience, Tantalus has committed an unspeakable act: he has murdered his own son, Pelops, and served him as the main course. As Guest watches, the gods begin to realize the true nature of the feast. Most react with horror and disgust, but the goddess Demeter, lost in sorrow for her lost daughter, partakes in the meal, completely oblivious to the atrocity.
This dinner features four Olympians. Artemis, goddess of the hunt, the wild, and the Moon, is shown to be easily disgusted by grotesque acts. Hephaestus, god of the forge and fire, has a strong physical aversion to the horrific meal, gagging at the sight of it. Dionysus, god of wine and revelry, possesses a dark sense of humor but is still repulsed by the cannibalism. Demeter, goddess of the harvest, is so consumed by her grief over her daughter Persephone's absence that she is completely detached from her surroundings, unaware of what she is eating.
One day, Zeus had invited his mortal son, Tantalus, to make dinner for the Olympians. Unfortunately for them (and him), he cooked his own son, Pelops, to give to the gods.
Yeah that’s a person…
She looks absolutely disgusted.
Pushing away his plate and gagging
Ew! I’m nowhere near drunk enough to eat that!
Dionysus looks to his right and sees his aunt eating a piece of shoulder
While chewing
Oh Persephone! Why did you leave?!
