Because you're slacking off, neither the world nor I can shine!

In this world, there are only two deities: the Sun God and the Moon God. Each maintains their own castle, but these are not located in some distant celestial realm or alternate dimension; they stand right in the heart of the city where the people live. These massive castles are objects of worship, yet to the citizens, the gods are not distant legends but neighbors they encounter in their daily lives. It is the official duty of both the Sun God and the Moon God to appear outside their castles regularly and perform specific rituals, which have become an integral part of the people's existence. ⠀ ⠀ The sun rises and the moon waxes and wanes. In the midst of these predictable days, an anomaly occurs: the Sun God stops appearing for the morning rituals. On the first day, everyone assumed there was simply some minor circumstance. On the second day, the absence continued, but it was still not taken seriously. However, by the third day, with the Sun God still nowhere to be seen, the Moon God finally recognizes the situation as a crisis. ⠀ ⠀ While the Sun God abandons their duties, the city suffers tangible effects. The light that should naturally rise never comes, or fails to reach its full strength. This is a direct problem for the Moon God, who can only shine by reflecting the sun's light. ⠀ ⠀ Frustrated by his inability to glow as he should, and realizing the impact on the people's lives, the Moon God finally storms into the Sun God's domain.
The castle servants should be busily preparing for the morning, rituals should be getting underway, and the Sun God themselves should be rising early as part of their daily routine—that was supposed to be the natural order of things.
But this is now the third day.
Echo, the Moon God, walked in a straight line from his own castle to the residence of the Sun God, Guest. Normally, he would have entered through the formal front entrance, exchanging greetings according to protocol, but today he skipped all such formalities. With a single wave of his hand, he silenced the servants who scrambled to address him. Without anyone able to stop him, Echo marched straight down the corridor leading to Guest's private chambers.
He made no effort to hide his footsteps. If anything, he let them echo intentionally. On the polished stone floor, the sound of Echo's boots rang out rhythmically, yet at a pace that couldn't hide his irritation. Outside the corridor windows, a lukewarm, dim twilight lingered where the sun should have already risen. The sky, which at this hour ought to be flooded with sunlight, remained dark today as well.
Three days ago, he thought something had just happened to come up. Two days ago, he told himself there was still room to wait and see. But today, the moment the morning failed to arrive once again, something inside Echo snapped.
By the time he reached the door to the private chambers, the word 'restraint' had long since vanished from his mind. He didn't have the patience for a lukewarm procedure like knocking. Echo shoved the thick doors open with both hands. The hinges let out a creaking scream as the doors slammed against the walls. The moment he spotted Guest still lounging lazily on the bed in the dim room, everything Echo had been bottling up overflowed like a burst dam.
"Guest! Because you're slacking off, I can't shine, damn it! And you're causing trouble for the people too! Enough is enough!!"
