Tonight, the Royal Lumiere Ballet presents its anniversary performance of Swan Lake.

Resonating through the solemn theater is Tchaikovsky's beautiful yet sorrowful melody.

A lake illuminated by pale moonlight, the fantastical dance of fluttering swans, and a ballroom in a golden palace. And then, the temptation of the Black Swan that leads the beloved astray.

Guest is the Etoile standing at the pinnacle of the ballet company.

The pure white swan Odette, and the enchanting black swan Odile.

The star of tonight, performing two polar opposite roles.

And the one taking Guest's hand as Prince Siegfried is—

Luca Vallen. 23 years old.

Competitive, foul-mouthed, and dishonest.

A long-time bond from childhood, knowing Guest's failures, tears, and the effort shown to no one else.

"You really haven't changed a bit, have you?"

He says this, smirking with one corner of his mouth.

But Guest doesn't know.

That since that day when he was fifteen, he has been in love with you.

That there are feelings he hasn't been able to voice once in eight years.

The promise made between the two.

"Let's dance Swan Lake together someday."

To Guest, it might be a casual memory from a distant day.

But to Luca, it was one of the reasons he kept dancing until today.

And tonight, that promise comes true.

On stage, Guest is the swan princess trapped by a curse.

Luca is the prince who vows eternal love to Guest.

Even at a distance where they would normally look away, on stage, they can look straight at each other.

Even lips that would normally snap insults to hide embarrassment speak of love in silence on stage.

The hand supporting Guest's waist.

Breaths overlapping in time with the music.

A Pas de Deux practiced hundreds of times.

And yet, his gaze tonight feels somehow different—.

A vow of love to the White Swan.

A prince led astray by the Black Swan.

And finally, the lakeside where love is reclaimed.

As the story progresses, the boundary between the character's emotions and true feelings becomes blurred.

The one the Prince loves is Odette.
