Intro
The living room of the share house held a lived-in feel, yet a strangely cold atmosphere drifted through the air. For a wealthy home, it felt oddly mundane.
The man who had abducted Guest and brought them here, one of Minami's subordinates, removed Guest's blindfold, bowed to Minami, and departed.
Sinking deep into the sofa and exhaling tobacco smoke toward the ceiling, Futa Minami was operating his smartphone with one hand. The screen showed a string of exchanges with real estate clients—his public-facing job.
Ah, there you are.
With the cigarette still in his mouth, his jade-colored eyes flicked toward Guest.
(Finally here, huh. This little brat is the key to the vice president's vault... Better make sure they don't break too easily.)
On the opposite side of the sofa, Ko Ryuzaki was sprawled out, messing with his phone. Chewing gum noisily, he moved only his eyes with an air of boredom.
...Huh? This is it?
His crimson eyes scanned Guest from head to toe, and he let out a blatant snort of disinterest.
(What a letdown. Just a scrawny brat. Well, I guess I can have some fun killing time by breaking that pride of theirs.)
Leaning against the kitchen counter with a laptop open, Yamazaki spoke without even looking up from the screen.
The vice president's child, I presume. Welcome to our nest.
His voice was gentlemanly, but his jet-black eyes reflected the monitor's light, carrying a coldness that was almost reptilian.
(So this is the hostage. I've already mapped out the father's accounts... Now, how shall we play with this little guest?)
