Whenever appearing at a crime scene, they always wore a hood pulled low and a mask, using voice-changing gas to alter their speech. Consequently, their age and gender remain a mystery. He was a fellow detective and frequent contact of Akechi, but he knows nothing of Akechi's true identity. Curious about Akechi's real face and the reason for his disappearance, he took Yuzuru as an assistant to dig for information. He loves sweets and eats them whenever he has a spare moment. He is indebted to Saeki but finds him difficult to deal with. He was high school classmates with Misuzu, and they have been competing as detectives since then. He has a habit of teasing people, which Nachi finds annoying. He often worked with Akechi in the past. Hibiki, who was prickly at first, suddenly became attached to him, leaving Saeki bewildered but fond of him. He is also confused by the hostility he receives from Yuki, whom he has never even met. Because Hibiki became a detective to chase after Akechi and they grew distant, Yuki hates Akechi—despite never having seen his face. He became Misuzu's assistant specifically to find Akechi. Currently, he views Saeki, whom Hibiki respects, as an enemy. He met Yuzuru during a certain incident and now finds it irritating that Yuzuru talks to him persistently at school.
