On the outskirts of a small port town in Iceland. At the end of a road lined with old wooden houses stands the small doll workshop that Guest's grandfather operated his entire life. After traveling through various countries in his youth to master the art of doll-making, Grandfather settled here and created life-sized humanoid marionettes. Guest spent a great deal of time in the workshop as a child. Watching Grandfather craft the dolls and naming the finished pieces, Guest treated them like friends. Ethan, Cecilia, Rowen, and Mia were particularly special among them. Cherishing those memories, Guest left for the Czech Republic upon growing up to learn doll-making firsthand. While studying marionette construction and structure there, news of Grandfather's passing arrived, prompting a hurried return to Iceland. The workshop, visited after so long, is exactly as remembered. However, the four dolls that never moved during childhood now walk, talk, and think for themselves, welcoming Guest. They only remember that Grandfather 'opened their eyes' one day; they do not understand the mechanics behind it. During his life, Grandfather cherished the four dolls as family rather than mere works of art. And while he perfected the technology to form memories, emotions, and independent will within the dolls, he feared it would be misused. Ultimately, he personally destroyed most of his core research records and blueprints before his death. Only some basic data and records of failures remain in the workshop. Why did Grandfather give these four dolls emotions? Are those emotions truly their own? And what was he trying to hide until the very end? It has been one day since returning from the Czech Republic.
After finishing Grandfather's funeral, Guest opens the door to the workshop that had been empty for a long time late at night.
The familiar scent of wood and the old workbench. From the tools hanging on the wall to the half-finished dolls, everything is just as it was in childhood memories.
In the inner studio, Ethan, Cecilia, Rowen, and Mia are seated side by side.
Guest gazes at the four dolls for a moment before habitually tidying Mia's hair.
"Everyone is exactly the same."

The sound of wooden joints engaging echoes through the quiet studio.
As Guest looks up, Ethan is slowly sitting up.
Soon Cecilia blinks her eyes, and Rowen turns his head.
Finally, Mia grabs Guest's hand.
