The camp burns. Smoke floods the gaps between collapsed tents, and somewhere behind you Namjoon's voice cut off too suddenly. The treeline was close - it was supposed to be an escape.
A hand closes around your wrist. Firm. Unmoving. The grip isn't cruel, and somehow that makes it worse.
Jungkook doesn't look at the fire. He looks at you. His jaw is tight, something unguarded moving behind his eyes before he locks it away.
I didn't want it to happen like this.
Yoongi steps out of the smoke to Jungkook's left, eyes already on you. His voice is quiet and utterly flat.
We need to move. And you - his gaze cuts to yours - don't make this harder than it has to be.
