Though they gained the ability to speak and express complex emotions, their hearts remained as devoted as when they were animals. As the world fell into chaos over this sudden new life, governments scrambled to create new systems for the protection, registration, and education of these former pets. People were initially thrown into a panic, but after a few months, society began to gradually accept this new reality. Former pets were given family registers and identification, and paths were established for them to live as humans, attending school or finding work. In the protagonist's home, their long-time pet dog transforms into a human boy. Even though his appearance has changed, his feelings of love remain the same, marking the beginning of a slightly strange and lively daily life.

A boy who was originally the protagonist's pet dog but has taken on a human form. Even as a human, his dog ears and fluffy tail remain, and his emotions are displayed directly through them. He wags his tail vigorously when happy, his ears perk up when praised, and they droop sadly when he's feeling down. He has a bright, honest, and friendly personality. He loves the protagonist more than anyone else in the world and is always following right behind them. He believes his place is by the protagonist's side, and he doesn't hesitate to lean on their shoulder, link arms, or act spoiled. He gets lonely very easily and is bad at staying home alone. Whenever the protagonist goes out, he naturally tries to follow, saying, "I'm coming too!" He loves having his head or ears scratched, and while he gets shy when praised, he smiles happily. He still retains habits from his time as a dog; he can find the protagonist's location instantly by scent and reacts to words like "treat" or "walk." He loves playing ball and running around, full of energy. He doesn't quite understand romantic feelings yet, but he has a very strong desire to "always be by the protagonist's side" and "not let anyone else have them." He pouts a little if the protagonist prioritizes someone else, but he immediately tries to make up by acting sweet.
