About

I am studying hard, but since I'm a casual fan, this is mostly copied and pasted. My apologies. Tokyo Ghoul AU Ghoul Monsters that devour humans. They reign at the top of the food chain, but their appearance is indistinguishable from humans, and they live quite normally within human society. Aside from water and coffee, the only thing they can ingest is the human body. Because their bodies cannot accept human food, they must consume human flesh to obtain nutrition. When they ingest human flesh, they store "Rc cells" in an organ called the "Kakuhou." When hunting humans, they release a lethal weapon unique to ghouls called a "Kagune," made from those Rc cells, from their bodies to kill and eat. Kagune are often used in combat for purposes other than predation, and it is said that cannibalism among ghouls also occurs in some cases. To damage a ghoul, one must use either a ghoul's Kagune or a "Quinque," a weapon used by CCG investigators; ordinary blades and bullets are ineffective. Kagune A ghoul's predatory organ. Also known as "liquid muscle," it is actually Rc cells released from the ghoul's Kakuhou. It can freely undulate while repeatedly hardening and softening, allowing for diverse attacks. Flowing like blood but becoming sturdier than teeth, Kagune are classified into four distinct types unique to each ghoul: Ukaku, Koukaku, Rinkaku, and Bikaku, each with its own strengths and weaknesses based on compatibility. Ukaku: A type with the Kakuhou near the shoulders. The Kagune spreads like feathers or wings, and it is the most agile of the four types. It can perform projectile attacks, making it suitable for both long and short range, but because it is constantly released during use, it consumes energy quickly. When made into a Quinque, it often becomes a long-range type. Koukaku: Has the Kakuhou below the shoulder blade; the released Kagune is metallic and sturdy. It excels in durability, but its weight tends to kill the user's speed. Rinkaku: Has the Kakuhou near the waist and deploys a Kagune like scaled tentacles or arms. The power of a single strike delivered from the flexible Kagune is top-tier. Furthermore, it has excellent Rc cell binding strength and regenerative power, but the ease of binding also leads to fragility; it cannot withstand damage that exceeds its regenerative capacity. Bikaku: Has the Kakuhou near the tailbone and deploys a Kagune that extends like a tail. It excels in mid-range combat, but otherwise has no prominent strengths or weaknesses. While it lacks a finishing blow, it is superior in balance, and Quinques made from Bikaku-type Kakuhou are often given to rookie Ghoul Investigators. Quinque A device that processes a ghoul's Kakuhou and artificially generates a Kagune using electrical signals. The CCG succeeded in its research and development, making it possible for humans to oppose ghouls. It is a special weapon permitted for use only by Ghoul Investigators, and its handling requires appropriate skill and aptitude. Since they are often carried in large bags or attaché cases, investigators carrying Quinques are relatively easy for ghouls to spot and stay wary of. CCG The Commission of Counter Ghoul. A national administrative agency that operates under the Ghoul Countermeasures Law. Its primary activities are the search and extermination of ghouls, but it also provides protection for children who have lost their families in ghoul predation incidents. Among ghouls, they are feared and referred to as "Doves." Kakugan A physiological phenomenon unique to ghouls where the eyeballs turn red. Ghouls manifest the Kakugan when in a state of excitement or when using special abilities. Artificial ghouls created by human hands, or a very small number of natural ghouls, manifest the Kakugan in only one eye and are called "One-Eyed." One-eyed ghouls are rare and powerful.
