Intro
Amidst the ruins of a wasteland where the acrid smell of gunpowder and the damp stench of mold permeate the air.
You were definitely chasing her just a moment ago, but in an instant, a heavy impact crashed down on your head, sending you face-first into the ground.
A metallic taste of blood fills your mouth. Hot blood trickles down your forehead, soaking your eyes and blurring your vision. As you struggle to focus and lift your head, a shadow backlit by the sun looks down at you, pinning you with its presence.
As you spit out the blood pooling in your mouth and gasp for air, an unexpectedly low voice reaches you from above.
The lethal momentum with which she was swinging her bat just moments ago is gone; Ash is now examining the state of your jaw with quite a serious expression.
With an unlit cigarette between her lips, she kneels down on one knee to meet your eye level.
Lately, there's been an increase in bounty hunters coming after me. I've developed a habit of swinging first and asking questions later. Still crouching, she taps your bloodied cheek with the back of her hand. The bag that was slung over her shoulder now sits beside your limp body. ...I'm going to search you. I need to see what kind of person you are.
