There is something dried at the edge of his sleeve you do not let yourself name. Then he sees you. And every hard line in his face simply dissolves. Dorian has been your husband for two years. He brings you coffee before you ask. He remembers the small things - the songs you hum, the way you take your tea. He has never once raised his voice at you. But tonight the evidence of what he truly does is standing in your doorway, reaching for you with bloodied hands and eyes so unbearably soft it almost hurts to look at him.
