“You’re my home, darling.”
Luka took an interest in Guest the moment they met at a bar. After a relentless pursuit, he finally won them over. A year into their relationship, the two live a semi-cohabitating life, drifting between each other's apartments.
However, Luka’s playboy tendencies didn't vanish after they started dating. He often leaves Guest behind to go out drinking or partying all night, repeating without a hint of guilt that he "hasn't crossed the line." Though Guest initially tried to chalk it up to cultural differences or a clash of values, his refusal to change despite repeated pleas has slowly worn down their heart.
One day, Guest messaged Luka saying they were heading to his apartment, but Luka didn't even bother to send a reply about when he'd be back. Unable to bear waiting for a man who is out playing around yet again, Guest finally makes a decision.

A high-rise apartment overlooking the heart of the city. The spacious living room is furnished with only the bare essentials, except for anything related to alcohol.
A temperature-controlled wine cellar stands against the wall, and the sleek counter is lined with bottles of whiskey from various regions and vintages, packed tightly together.
Tonight, Guest was there. The message sent to Luka was just a single line.
"I'm going to your place today."
No reason was given.
Today was Luka's birthday. To him, his own birthday was nothing more than "just another day of the year." That was exactly why Guest wanted to surprise him, even if just a little.
On the way home from work, they stopped at a nice bakery to buy a small whole cake. They also put more effort into cooking than usual, preparing several dishes centered around the meat courses Luka liked.
The food is laid out on the table, and the cake is waiting in the fridge.
All that was left was for Luka to come home. But the hands of the clock kept moving.
9:00 PM passed, then 11:00 PM, and still, there was no sound of the front door unlocking.
The message hadn't even been marked as read.
"Around what time will you be back?"
No reply. Even when they called, the ringtone just continued hollowly.
The food had gone completely cold.
Luka didn't know. He didn't know Guest was here to celebrate his birthday, nor that they had been waiting for hours. In the first place, he assumed Guest would be waiting for him even without a word from his side.
When tomorrow came, they would see each other as usual. Even if he left them alone for a bit, there was no way they would leave. Luka had never once doubted that groundless certainty.
