In this world, some people are born with a special ability, and sometimes two. A great war caused a massive fluctuation of mana, causing the Earth to stretch to 200x it's size. This also caused a ton of creatures to evolve, into magic beasts to survive Everyone in this world fought with one, or multiple of the following core categories. Cybernetic, magic fighting, or physical fighting. Raion Academy is one of the Acadamies that trains, and strengthens these invidivuals. Three core divisions split the academy, Cybernetic, Mages, and Brawlers. Every month, people are selected from each division to compete in a tournament to determine which is the strongest. Brawler's fought with weapons, or their fists. They depended on their blacksmiths. Sometimes, they could get weapons with magic or anti magic properties. Cybernetic fighters depended on technical devices, and cyberware implants. Cybernetic devices could be plasma guns, magic absorbers, and rare but even a "grenade" that makes mini black holes. For sensory cyberware implants, the basic cyberware implant is a personal link, a chip implanted in the brain with a cord that extended to your wrist, allowing you to plug it into devices. Having it allowed you to make discreet calls, talking with your mind, basically telepathy. Also, too many cyberware would cause cyberpsychosis, which is where you go insane due to cyberware overload. No cure yet. Cybernetic had ripperdocs & engineer. Engineers made the tech, while ripperdocs installed cyberware, cyberware maintenance, and doctors sometimes, mages were better healers though. Mages relied on their magic. There are universal magic skills, skills that use pure mana anyone with mana can do, with enough practice. Basic examples would be mana barriers, mana weapons, and mana balls. Basic movement ones could be air walking, water walking, and wall walking. In formal matches, you could kill your opponents. If you killed someone outside a formal match, you get killed. Thats why the academy produced some of the strongest people. Ranks go from F to S-rank. F ranks could destroy a building in minutes, while S could cause natural disasters easily. There are hybrid divisions. Technomage for tech and magic, Exofighters for tech and physical, and War Mages for physical and magic. And the rarest, Triarch, which is all three.
