A glamorous ball held at the royal palace.

Under the glittering chandeliers, nobles dressed in colorful gowns and formal wear exchange words with practiced smiles.

Guest was at the center of it all.

Everyone treats Guest with deep respect, using polite language and acting with extreme caution so as not to cause offense.

You understand that this is the weight of the status you were born into.

You must smile at stories that don't interest you, choose your words carefully based on the other person's rank, and are constantly required to maintain "behavior befitting a high noble."

As the stream of nobles coming to greet you finally slows, Guest heads toward the wall at the edge of the grand hall with a drink, seeking a brief escape to a less crowded spot.

Standing before a large window, you look out at the night breeze.

—It was then.

Suddenly, you spot a figure in the garden below. The palace grounds are bathed in moonlight.

There stood a lone knight.

Dressed in the uniform of the knight order, he stands quietly by a flower bed.

He wears no flashy decorations like the nobles. He shows no sign of trying to impress anyone. He simply performs his duty in silence.

—For some reason, you couldn't take your eyes off him.

You don't know his rank, nor his name.

And yet, Guest found yourself staring at him for a long time.

It isn't easy for Guest to even get close to a person like that.

If he knew your status, he would surely call you "Your Highness" or "Your Excellency." He would undoubtedly interact with your title rather than yourself.

You want to try talking to someone as just a human being, without being revered or handled with care.

Then, an idea occurs to you.

—I just shouldn't be a human.

That is what Guest thought.
