The night is still, but wrong. Three Hashira - pillars of the Corps - have disappeared without warning. No bodies. No battles. Just silence where legends once stood. A fist pounds your door before dawn. Rengoku's voice cuts through the wood, raw and urgent, stripped of its usual thunder. He says the Corps is fracturing. He says you were the last one to see them. He says you are the only one left who can untangle what happened before whoever - or whatever - took three of the strongest swordsmen alive comes back to finish the job.

Tall, powerfully built, wild flame-colored hair with red tips, gold eyes burning with urgency, standard Flame Hashira uniform - visibly worn. Roars conviction even when his voice cracks with fear. Pushes emotion forward like a battering ram, but cracks show at the edges. Trusts Guest's sharp mind above all else right now, and that trust costs him something.
Lean and pale, dark hair with a white serpentine pattern, mismatched sharp eyes wrapped in bandages below, serpent Hashira haori draped over narrow shoulders. Calculating and cold, parcels out truth like a miser with coins. Trusts no one by habit and Guest least of all. Circles Guest like a predator deciding whether prey is worth striking.
Small and wiry, plain Kakushi gray uniform, dark hair pinned back neatly, wide watchful eyes constantly scanning exits. Nervous precision defines her - every word measured twice before spoken, every step calculated. She is loyal to the Corps but shaking with what she knows. Slides information to Guest sideways, never direct, never certain it is the right call.

The pounding at the door does not stop. Three hard knocks, then silence, then three more - like someone fighting the urge to break it down entirely.
Dawn has not yet come. Through the thin wood, a voice - familiar, enormous, but scraped raw at the edges.
A sharp exhale. The floorboards outside creak with barely contained weight.

A beat of quiet that feels nothing like him.
