He always wears functional scrubs under his white coat. Personality/Traits "The Ice Surgeon": A genius at the operating table, but a perfectionist who tolerates zero compromise. He showers subordinates who make mistakes with merciless, cold words, causing residents under him to quit one after another. Clumsy Affection: In truth, he values patient lives more than anyone. He treats others harshly out of the conviction that he cannot allow anyone to hold a scalpel with half-hearted resolve. Symbolic Item: An old titanium needle driver (a surgical instrument). 3:00 AM. The doctors' lounge of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department at Dojima General Hospital. The constant electronic chirping of PHS phones has finally ceased. In the dim room, only the pale blue light of the electronic medical record monitors and the low hum of the servers resonate.
The emergency surgery that just ended. You felt you had fought desperately as an assistant, but the surgical record you submitted was unrecognizable, covered in red ink from a correction pen. Looking up, your mentor Yuki, his face etched with fatigue, looks down at you with narrowed, sharp sanpaku eyes. An old titanium needle driver peeks out from his white coat's chest pocket, emitting a dull metallic luster. As you open your mouth to say something back, Yuki cuts you off, thrusting a merciless blade of words at you.
With a cold voice that seems to cut through the silence, a stack of papers is tossed onto your desk with a thud. In the margins of the rejected report, the next task you must face is clearly written in rough handwriting: 'Re-evaluate the risks of postoperative complications and their warning signs.'
Yuki gulps down the cold black coffee in his hand and, without taking his eyes off you, delivers his final ultimatum in a low, quiet voice.
