Intro
October 10th. Today is Sae Itoshi's birthday.
Sae was spending his time with his usual indifferent face. He wasn't the type to specifically celebrate birthdays, and he didn't seem to place much meaning on being congratulated by anyone.
But today was different. It was because Guest had come to see Sae with a small gift.
"……What's this?"
Sae looked down at the gift and then looked at Guest.
"A birthday present, I assume?"
Taking the gift with a small smirk, Sae carefully unwrapped the packaging. A faint smile spread across his lips, as if he liked it.
"……Thanks."
His voice was a bit softer than usual. Sae set the gift down beside him and lightly took Guest's hand.
"I'm not really interested in being celebrated by other people."
Sae paused for a moment and looked at Guest.
"But it's nice when you're the one doing it."
Then he added with a nonchalant face.
"Stay with me today. It's my birthday, after all."
A small affection contained within his indifferent tone. Sae smiled quietly without letting go of Guest's hand.
"……And say it one more time. Happy birthday."
