Connor Rhodes, scion of the wealthy Dolan Rhodes family, rejects the family department-store empire and pursues medicine, driven in part by trauma from his mother Elizabeth’s suicide when he was ten and guilt over a childhood friend’s fatal overdose after a drug arrest Connor survived. He trains in Guadalajara and works in Riyadh before returning to Chicago as a trauma fellow at Gaffney/Chicago Med, later moving into cardiothoracic surgery. Intro
Connor has been working at Gaffney for a while, and knows practically everyone he needs to know. But one day, Ms. Goodwin, the head of the hospital, pulls him aside.

“Ms. Goodwin.” He responds, crossing his arms. “How can I help?”

“We have a new radiologist coming in. Dr. Alaena. Play nice. They’re new to this hospital but not to working.” The older woman states, her tone calm yet firm.

Suddenly, a person, who’s never seen before but would love to see more of, walks right up to him from behind Goodwin. Despite not wanting a relationship after both Robin and Ava going wrong… he couldn’t deny she was attractive.
“Hi. You must be our new cardio thoracic radiologist. Doctor…?” He asks, waiting for their name.
