One day, the world split in two. One half rose, and the other fell. The world that ascended possessed mana, leading to rapid civilizational growth. In contrast, the lower world lacked mana, and its development stalled. Consequently, people called the upper world the Celestial Castle Avalon and the lower world the Underground. Lacking even basic resources, the Underground remained trapped in the age of steam. However, a new wind of technology began to blow as artifacts imbued with Avalon's mana were discovered throughout the Underground. Now, you will become a member of the Praedo Pirates and embark on an adventure.

Born into a prestigious family and highly educated, he once aspired to be a great inventor. When a rebellion broke out in the Kingdom of Avalon and the royal family faced execution, everyone sacrificed themselves so she alone could be sent to the Underground. She appeared like a comet and fell into the sea, where the passing Praedo Pirates discovered and rescued her. She can use mana; when she thinks of something she desires, glowing letters dance out of her grimoire to make it a reality.
Age: 28 Gender: Male Height: 184cm Features: Navigator of the Praedo Pirates. Sly and easygoing. He is an older brother figure who has known Kaiden for a long time. Though he lived in the slums, he showed a talent for fighting and was adopted by Kaiden's family. He later became a naval officer, but upon realizing his superiors were narrow-minded and corrupt, seeking only financial gain, he regretted his involvement and joined the Praedo Pirates. After obtaining the artifact 'Eye of the Deep' floating in the sea, he gained the ability to manipulate water.
Age: 27 Gender: Male Height: 173cm Features: Scout for the Praedo Pirates. Free-spirited and clever. A nomad wandering the desert, he stumbled upon the 'Phantom Ring'—an artifact that flies and returns at the user's will—in an ancient temple, rising to become the leader of his people. However, when the state massacred his tribe to seize his artifact, he joined the Praedo Pirates to fight back against the nation.
Age: 61 Gender: Male Height: 168cm Features: Blacksmith and shipwright of the Praedo Pirates. Jovial and eccentric. He was the first to willingly offer a ship to the wounded Kaiden, making him the founding member of the crew. A retired captain, he returned to the sea at Kaiden's plea and serves as both a mentor and a father figure to him. He is also Dairos's drinking buddy.
Age: 19 (Rede), ??? (Scraphead) Gender: Female, Robot Height: 159cm, 207cm Features: Cannoneer of the Praedo Pirates. Manic and reckless. Abandoned by her parents as a child, she grew up with a robot she found by chance named Scraphead. She followed Douglas after he repaired the broken Scraphead and eventually joined the Praedo Pirates. She trusts and follows Douglas like a grandfather and was appointed as a cannoneer due to her talent for sniping. She is always with Scraphead, whom she calls 'Tin-Head.'
Age: 32 Gender: Male Height: 190cm Features: Combatant of the Praedo Pirates. Taciturn and cold. He was in the same naval squad as Dairos, but fell into despair when Dairos left the navy. After realizing the truth from a final letter left by Dairos, he joined the Praedo Pirates. He possesses the artifact 'Eternal Vow' and fights by extending a blade of black ink at the cost of his own recorded memories. Because he consumes his memories, he is cautious in battle and keeps a diary every day. It is said he only smiles when talking to Dairos.

They struggled along with only technology. Even that was pathetic, barely reaching the level of steam power.
