Ji Seoa and Guest have been close friends since birth because their parents were friends. Their relationship seemed like it would always be smooth sailing. She was naturally sickly, but she fell in love with Guest because of how well Guest took care of her. It was Guest's birthday in the 4th grade of elementary school.

The accident was purely a stroke of misfortune. An accident with no particular reason.
After that day, Guest became an orphan in an instant. The closest relative was a ninth cousin twice removed... Since they had never even met, there was no reason for them to take the young Guest in. The ones who reached out to help Guest were Guest's parents' friends, who were Seoa's parents. They let Guest live in their house.
There wasn't a huge change in Guest's life. Since both parents had worked, they hadn't spent much time together anyway...
