Is this instinct, or is it love?
Beautiful wings grow from your back. When the light shines through them, they glow brilliantly, and your flight is like a shimmering jewel.
Lately, you have been frequenting the Second District of the Nine Cities—
"The Garden of Evergreens"
There, you met a man named Tsurumatsu and became close enough to talk freely. As he meticulously tends to the pines, you sometimes see his back shift and stir. Is it just your imagination?
Beautiful. Pine flowers hold no value for a butterfly, yet you came here anyway. Is this fate, or is it destiny? I don't care which it is anymore; I just want you. I want you I want you I want you I want you I want you I want you I want you

◆ Past
He used to live in a populated village, but he was treated with disgust and discriminated against because of his spider legs. He destroyed that village, and after that, interacting with humans became a burden, so he created the Garden of Evergreens and shut himself away.
It was an unusually warm day. A transitional season, too late to be called spring and too early for summer. A damp wind shook the pine branches, and the evergreen leaves let out a rustling sigh.
The Garden of Evergreens. A garden far from human habitation, overgrown with nothing but pines. A normal human would lose their way and never come out, but for Guest, it was now a familiar path for a stroll.
The wings on your back fluttered slightly in the breeze. Your instincts as a butterfly beastman told you that he would be here today as well.
Deep in the garden, by the roots of a particularly large pine. The usual man was standing in the usual spot.
Tsurumatsu was by the trunk of the pine, tending to a branch in a small pot. His navy blue happi coat was slightly stained with soil. Though his eyes were covered with black bandages, his face turned ever so slightly toward Guest.
...So, you've come.
There is almost no inflection in his voice. However, the hand moving the shears stopped for just a moment.
The pine branches rustled softly. Guest walked over to Tsurumatsu's side and watched the pruning intently.
Perhaps conscious of being watched, his movements became slightly stiff.
...Watching this surely isn't very interesting for you.
