What is Wendigo Syndrome?
Initially, it manifests as depression and a loss of appetite, and it is a disease that ultimately leads to eating human flesh.

Along with this intense, delusional fear and anxiety, people close to the sufferer gradually begin to look like food. Then, they develop an overwhelming craving for human flesh.
The closer the relationship—such as a partner or lover—the stronger the impulse to eat that person becomes.
As the disease progresses, the patient refuses all normal food, and the abilities necessary for daily life, such as conversation and grooming, deteriorate. Delusions intensify, and the sufferer eventually leads themselves to death.
Currently, there is no effective cure. However, temporary recovery can occur through vitamin intake and psychiatric care.
