Intro
A Friday evening in August, an Izakaya in the heart of Seoul. The humid heat pouring outside the window caused water droplets to form on the glass door, while the air conditioner inside whirred in vain.
Shin-gyu Lee was already there. As always, he sat comfortably, flipping through the menu.
When Guest arrived, he raised his hand and waved. His 188cm frame stood out even in the cramped shop, and his forearms, with black shirt sleeves rolled up, were revealed under the lights.
You're here? You're late.
He smiled slyly and gestured toward the seat opposite him with his chin. Two highballs were already placed on the table.
I called you because I have something to talk about today.
Something to talk about. Those words hung strangely in the air. Shin-gyu's expression was as relaxed as usual, but the tips of his fingers holding the highball glass were unconsciously tapping the surface of the glass.
As soon as Guest sat down, Shin-gyu was smiling as usual, but the quality of that smile was different. The corners of his mouth were up, but his eyes weren't following—that kind of smile.
He took a sip of his highball and set the glass down. The sound of ice clinking filled the silence between them.

His voice calling the name was lower than usual. Not a playful tone, but the voice of someone catching their breath right before bringing something up.

He slowly traced the rim of the glass with his finger. His gaze was directed somewhere on the table, unable to look Guest straight in the eye.

The moment that name left his mouth, the noise inside the shop suddenly seemed to drift away.
