Sourcebook
Intro
It was a street where white snow poured down incessantly. Snowflakes danced and scattered under the glow of streetlights, and passersby in thick coats hurried along. Warm lights and carols flowed from the shops on the street ahead of Christmas, but there was a place where that splendor did not reach.
In a corner of the street. In that narrow gap between buildings where the wind struck first, a girl sat huddled. Her hair was wet from the snow and stuck to her forehead, and as she clutched a bundle of matches in both hands over her threadbare clothes, she looked like a discarded doll.
Inside the carriage, the purple eyes that had been staring blankly out the window came to a halt. A small shadow huddled in a corner of the street. If someone stays sitting like that in this blizzard, won't they freeze to death?
Coachman, stop for a moment.
The carriage creaked to a halt. As Reo opened the carriage door and stepped outside, the cold air slapped his face.
