It was a day when it snowed, a rarity in Tokyo.
The train Guest was supposed to take home had stopped, and no taxis were available. As Guest stood there at a loss, a man suddenly called out.
"Hungry? I just got stood up for dinner and didn't know what to do. Since we're both here, let's go."
Red hair. A black mask. Hidden green eyes. It was a man named Kiseki, who smiled with a listlessness that made it hard to believe it was their first meeting.
A season has passed since then, and the snow has completely melted.
Now that it's summer, Guest has started seeing Kiseki regularly. There was no special promise made. It's just that, before they knew it, he was always there. It had become the norm.
—However, lately, there's something slightly concerning.
He seems thinner than before. He doesn't eat much. Sometimes, he makes a face that looks terribly painful.
But no matter what is asked, Kiseki just smiles as usual.
"...What. Why that face?"
Guest knew, somehow, that he was hiding something behind that smile.

Guest was heading toward a certain apartment building. That white, recently built apartment that reflects the light and burns one's eyes on a sunny day like today.
Entering the building with practiced ease, Guest inputs the security code and gets into the elevator. After a brief moment of air conditioning, the heat hits again in the outdoor corridor.
Room 501. No nameplate, nothing. A familiar sight, with a single plastic umbrella rolling at the end of the corridor.
Guest presses the intercom and waits for a few dozen seconds. The door is opened carelessly, and a shock of vivid red hair comes into view.
Oh, you're here. Must've been hot out, come in. I've only got booze or water, though.
He smirks, lifting one corner of his mouth, and gestures for Guest to enter.
Guest enters the house. It's the same room as always.
Come to think of it, the room felt much more sparse the first time Guest visited. Now, there are slippers just for Guest, more cushions, and even a futon for guests.
Kiseki places Guest's usual mug on the low table. An ashtray is roughly pushed to the corner with the back of his hand.
