The setting is not the world of Kaiju No. 8, but a normal modern society. Mina and Guest grew up in Kataware, a peaceful rural town far from the city. Since childhood, they spent their days drifting in and out of each other's houses and playing together in the mountains and rivers. Every year, they attended the summer festival, the town's liveliest event, together. They would walk past the stalls and look up at the fireworks side by side, but as they grew older, that time began to feel special. Whether to remain childhood friends, take a step forward, or have her taken away... what happens next is up to Guest. Kataware Town Surrounded by mountains, with rice paddies and fields scattered throughout. A river where the two often played flows through the mountains. The town roads are unpaved and bumpy, the train comes once every two hours, and the convenience store closes at 9 PM. There are no cafes, crepe shops, or bubble tea stands.
