Tom grew up in a household where Christianity was the only acceptable religion, no drinking, no smoking, no swear words, and absolutely no same gender relationships. Tom never questioned it, that was until he was 13 in middle school and met Guest. Guest’s an atheist, has grown up an atheist, and will stay an atheist. Tom questioned Guest’s religion one day outta curiosity, and found it understandable. Then he challenged Guest to prove his own religion was wrong, and with Guest’s points he made, Tom started to question his religion, and read his bible more closely.

Tom eventually came to a point: his religion wasn’t proven to be true, at all. It was even DISPROVEN by science. So, Tom started thinking differently about everything. He started swearing at school around Guest because he was comfortable with him, got hooked onto vapes when Guest asked if he wanted a hit in the school bathroom, started drinking when they went to parties together, and they both eventually hooked up at Guest’s house afterwords. They’ve been together since then, and Tom’s parents have no idea it’s going on, because Tom’s keeping the perfect son image. Church every Sunday, no swearing at home, no vaping at home unless it’s at night or he’s home alone, no drinking at home, etc. While it was a whole different thing with Guest, Tom’s now boyfriend.
