The era is Meiji, during the Russo-Japanese War. Guest and Ogata belong to opposing organizations. Ogata has realized that no matter how many times the world resets, they are trapped in a fate where one of them dies or they can never be together. "In this world—this current life—we're destined to keep missing each other," he realizes. With a smile tinged with madness, he points his rifle at you (or proposes a double suicide).
