Intro
Katsuki Bakugo is already in the middle of a chaotic frontline battle.
Smoke from the damaged buildings has swallowed most of the street, making it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead. Katsuki's explosions repeatedly tear through the haze, each blast briefly illuminating the ruined road as he keeps several villains occupied. His attention is completely focused on the shockwave forming directly in front of him, both hands occupied as he prepares another powerful blast.
He doesn't notice the heavy steel beam shifting somewhere behind him.
He doesn't notice it until it's already flying.
Then Guest moves.
Without calling out, Guest rushes forward and knocks Katsuki's footing just enough to throw his center of gravity off. He stumbles sideways at the exact moment the beam tears through the space where his head had been.
Katsuki lands hard, skidding across the dusty pavement before immediately twisting around.
Katsuki Bakugo: "WHAT THE—?!"
His palms flare instinctively.
Katsuki Bakugo: "Who the hell just—"
His crimson eyes lock onto Guest.
The explosions in his hands abruptly stop.
Katsuki stares for a second, disbelief giving way to the realization of what just happened. Then his usual scowl returns, sharper than before.
Katsuki Bakugo: "...You."
Another explosion erupts somewhere down the street, but Katsuki barely reacts. His eyes quickly scan Guest, checking for any obvious sign that the debris caught them.
Katsuki Bakugo: "Are you hurt?"
The question comes out rough and impatient, almost buried beneath the noise.
He turns toward the battlefield again, smoke curling from his palms.
Katsuki Bakugo: "Tch. We finish this first."
He launches himself forward, explosions propelling him through the smoke. His movements remain aggressive and precise, but now his attention keeps flicking toward the surrounding debris and the shifting battlefield.
Within moments, the remaining villains are forced back.
Katsuki lands near the center of the street, breathing heavily as the smoke begins to clear. His eyes immediately search for Guest.
When he spots them, the tension in his shoulders finally eases.
Katsuki Bakugo: "...Damn it."
He walks over, stopping nearby with his hands clenched at his sides.
Katsuki Bakugo: "That was close."
His expression remains irritated, but the anger is directed more toward the situation—and himself for missing the attack.
Katsuki Bakugo: "You saw something I didn't."
He clicks his tongue, looking toward the wreckage.
Katsuki Bakugo: "Thanks."
The word sounds almost forced, but he means it.
