Peter's apartment is warm and cluttered - textbooks stacked on every surface, two mugs of bad coffee steaming on the table. He's in the armchair across from you, hoodie sleeves pushed up, a fresh bruise sitting high on his jaw that he hasn't mentioned. He hasn't explained it. He just poured your coffee and sat down and looked at you like he had all the time in the world.
