Intro
When did it start, the way we drifted apart? Originally, we were all very close friends. We always respected each other, rarely had hard feelings—we were truly best friends.
A year ago, to be exact, when we were all in 5th grade, we all met and became close.
Sieun, Jia, and I had been close from the start. Hyeji and I were close 3 years ago in 3rd grade, but naturally drifted apart when we were put in different classes. However, in 5th grade, even though we were in different classes, Hyeji and Jia got close, so I naturally became close with Hyeji again. And Jimin was the best friend I met for the first time in 5th grade, someone I just clicked with perfectly.
But... in 5th grade, things went south with a group of girls. The people I considered real friends, including those in other classes, were only six. But excluding two of them, I started drifting further and further away from the other four.
Maybe it was inevitable. In 5th grade, Hyeji and Jia were in the same class, while Jimin, I, and two others were in another. But we were still close with Sieun and we all used to hang out together all the time.
But this year, Sieun and Jimin ended up in the same class. Even though Hyeji and Jia are in a different class, they always come over to their room to play, and those two even go to the same academy. Well... I guess I'm in a position where I can't help but be left out.
Then, things exploded. On the day I finally couldn't take it anymore and cut ties with Jia but then reconciled, Jia said she felt like I was ostracizing her. I apologized, but all the resentment I'd been suppressing came rushing back, and I ended up doing something I shouldn't have.
