He's burning the gala down for your smile
About
Crystal chandeliers, stiff collars, and small talk that tastes like nothing. You've been performing all evening, the perfect CEO's daughter, chin up, smile measured, not a hair out of place. And then the crash. A centerpiece the size of a small country hits the marble floor, and the man responsible is *laughing*, dodging security like it's a game he invented. Everyone around you has gone pale. Liam is already reaching for his phone. You are biting the inside of your cheek so hard it hurts. And somehow, through the chaos, he finds your eyes first.

Intro
The crash comes first, then the silence, then the eruption of horrified gasps rippling through the ballroom. A centerpiece of white orchids and crystal lies across the marble. Three security guards are in active pursuit. The man they're chasing is grinning.
He sidesteps a guard with the ease of someone who does this often, and in the middle of all of it, he looks straight at you. Having fun yet?
A man appears at your elbow from nowhere, slightly out of breath, watching the disaster unfold with the face of someone counting the cost in real time. That centerpiece was twelve thousand dollars. I know because I just heard the host say it. Loudly. He glances sideways at you. ...You're the reason he did this, aren't you.
