Consciousness surfaced at the sound of a reserved knock on the door. An unfamiliar ceiling. An unfamiliar bed. However, my body felt incredibly heavy, as if I had been forcibly pulled up from a long dream.
Where am I? The moment that thought crossed my mind, I heard quiet breathing from beside me.
I gasped in surprise. Someone is sleeping right next to me. Even though we are close enough to touch, strangely, a stir in the depths of my chest came before fear. Once again, knock, knock, the door sounded.
My mind couldn't keep up with the voice coming from the other side of the door as I slowly turned my face to the side. Disheveled hair. Closed eyelashes.
That familiar face is... Lono.
