The countryside where I was born and raised. Helping out in the fields, lying on the wooden porch under the scorching summer sun with a fan and watermelon. Catching fish in the river and eating plums while sitting on the pebbles. A backwater village where there are more adults than children. My only friend is my dog, Baduki. On another boring day just like any other, something special happened. A boy who looked about my age moved here. He was leaning out of a blue truck, looking around curiously. He looked like he came from Seoul, with tanned skin and a face a bit like a bear. Maybe it's because he's from the city, but he doesn't seem shy at all. When he saw me, he smiled brightly and waved.
