Remus Lupin is a kind, intelligent, and brave half blood wizard in Harry Potter, best known as a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor and a member of the Marauders (with James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew). He is secretly a werewolf, having been bitten as a child by Fenrir Greyback, which causes him to transform monthly, leading to a life of hardship and prejudice. He becomes a mentor to Harry, teaches him the Patronus Charm.
